Aiden's 2nd Birthday Party

Well today was suppose to be Aiden's birthday with the grandparents and aunts and uncles. Mother Nature had other plans in mind when she decided to stop by with a winter storm and about 6 inches of snow. When the wind would blow we had blizzard like conditions. We didn't want family out driving in such horrible weather so we decided to scrap the party but since we had the cake and most of the food Gary's side of the family braved the weather and came to celebrate with us. Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Tim, Aunt Angie and Chloe for coming to our party.

A Clue??

Brighton High School's mascot is the bulldog, so there are a lot of cars around town with a window decal of a paw print. Everytime we are behind a car with one Aiden shouts "CLUE". Blue's Clue is starting to become a new favorite show around here.

Who keeps stealing the candy canes??

Well I found the thief who kept stealing the candy canes, or as he calls them "candy cames". Notice what he is standing on....sorry if the gift you get this year is in a few more pieces than expected.

Cookies

I think we have started a new tradition among friends. This was our second annual cookie bake. Brye and Melissa were able to make it out even with the horrible weather we had the night before. We only managed to burn a tray of cookies and a batch of chocolate, Melissa, my microwave smells horrible everytime I use it now! Jake and Aiden were both very good boys. I think we are going to be outnumbered by kids next year.

Santa's Workshop

O Christmas Tree

Tonight we finished decorating the Christmas Tree. I had already put on all the glass bulbs but left the "fun" ones to do as a family. After dinner we threw some cookies in the oven to snack on while the tree was being trimmed.

Thanksgiving Day Surprise

 
We woke up to snow on Thanksgiving. It continued to snow all day at my parents. Looking in my parents yard it was so neat to see everything covered in white except one tree still holding onto it's yellow leaves.

Thansgiving was wonderful! It was so nice to spend time with the family. The food was great as always!



Aiden found a place to sit right between Uncle Pat and Rodel.


I tried to get a picture of the three little monkies by the christmas tree but David insisted on doing a "cool" pose. This is the best I could get.

Light Party

I found glow stick braclets at Michaels for $1. Aiden thinks they are so much fun. Tonight we had a "party" in his room. He is sure is Mr. Polite, when I asked him if I could have one his response was "of course". Melts your heart!

Raking Leaves

Aiden and I attempted to rake some leaves in the yard yesterday. We got one pile raked up, played in it and then called it a day, it was too cold out.

PapaMom Spends The Night

PapaMom came and spent the night Tuesday night so she could watch Aiden for us on Wednesday. Aiden had a buddy to play with all day and I hear the phrase of the day was "Come here PapaMom".

Kirby has picked up some new words lately so I thought I'd see if I could get them on video. He's a non-stop chatter box until the camera comes out. I didn't get as much as I wanted but did get some new video.

Between Aiden's screaming and Kirby's screaming it's enough to drive you bonkers during the day. I wanted to get Kirby doing his Choo-Choo and saying I'm going to go take a shower. But of course when the camera is on he is quiet!

Happy Halloween

We all had a great time trick or treating. As soon as Aiden figured out that the cute costume and the pumpkin basket got him candy he was all about the trick or treating. The weather was perfect, a bit windy but the rain held off until we were done. Gary wasn't too sure how many houses Aiden would do but we made it around the block in the sub across from Grandma and Grandpa's. Aiden never asked to go home and walked most of the time. He was a polite little guy and said thank you at each house. He even tried to give candy back at some houses.

Applesauce

I brought home some apples from the stand the other day to make some applesauce, so yesterday while Aiden was still at Grandma's I decided to make it. It turned out very good. I used golden delicious and left it a bit chunky.

Building The Shed

Gary went over with his brother Tim to help Tom finish up the shed he was building for Gary's parents. Aiden thought he was one of the boys hanging outside watching them hammer, nail and saw. He made sure to work in some breaks to play on the swingset too.








Aiden looks so stinking cute in his hat, if only I could get him to keep it on!

Colors

One day while walking through a store Aiden pointed out a yellow shirt. At first I thought he was just guessing and happened to get it right but after asking about more colors, he was getting them right also. He knows blue, green, yellow, orange, purple and red. Sometimes he has a hard time telling the difference between red and purple but gets it right a majority of the time. He's started pointing out certain shapes like stars and hearts so it looks like we will work on that soon. I really don't know where he picks some of this stuff up, it's amazing to see what that little mind can hold.

Big Boy Bed

A few weeks ago Aiden was sleeping horribly. If you even got near his crib he would start saying NO NO NO. He was waking up a few times a night and would no longer nap in the crib. I pulled the mattress out of his crib and laid it on the floor, he slept much better that night. So we made the decision that Aiden was ready for a big boy bed. Jessica had a toddler bed that wasn't being used so we borrowed it. Aiden is back to sleeping wonderfully and loves his big boy bed.

Such A Tough Life...

Aiden was calling for me yesterday. After following the sound of his voice I found him in our bed, the pillows propped up behind him, with the covers pulled up. He had the remote to the tv in his hand and quickly handed it to me to turn the tv on for him. If that wasn't enough he asked for crackers to snack on while he watched Spongebob. What a tough life...

Sprout

Friday I had my first doctors appointment and everything went well. Funny story for those who don't know. A few months ago a local radio station had a psychic on their show so I picked up my cell phone on my drive into work. Well wouldn't you know it I got through. At the time Gary and I had been discussing and trying for baby number two. So my question to the psychic was that we were trying for number 2 and what he saw in the near future. Well his response was baby number 2 like your second child, I quickly agreed. He then told me that my next pregnancy there would be two children, TWINS. Fast forward to my doctors appointment, after a reassuring ultrasound we have confirmed that there is only one little one in there. My due date was changed from May 10th to the 15th, but everything looks fantastic. I've been very nauseous the last week and a half, a good sign I know, but still not fun!



A new tradition with my baby board is that as some of us are starting the next round of pregnancies we give the little one a nick name until they arrive. So this little one was given the nickname of Sprout.
