Zoo

We spent ALL afternoon at the zoo. Melissa was running a bit behind so Brye and I decided to head over to the zoo and get an early start. The zoo was packed but it was such a gorgeous day. We walked around a bit and grabbed some lunch. Shortly after that Melissa and Jake joined us. Thank goodness we had Brye, two strollers, two kids equaled a handful. Brye was an official stroller pusher.

18 Months

Aiden is 18 months old today. It's so bittersweet to see my little man getting so big. He has been "chattering" up a storm lately. He can ask to get down, calls for Layla and loves to point at airplanes flying by. He no longer wants you to help him eat, he's a big boy and wants to do it on his own, even if it means turning the spoon upside down and losing everything on it and starting over. Lately his toes and shoes are very fascinating to him, he can even put his crocs on by himself. He can point to his hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, belly, knees and toes. Best of all if you ask him "Whose baby are you?" he will quickly and loudly reply "Momma's."

Father's Day

We had a very great Father's Day. Aiden gave Gary his present, which I just realized I didn't get a picture of. We went and visited with Gary's dad and gave him his gift and then headed over to my Uncle Doug and Aunt Lois's.

Gary was like a little kid, he loves fishing and spent most of the day with my cousin Adam fishing away. They each caught some nice looking bass.

Cookies

Angie's (sister in law) baby shower was this weekend. I had a lot of fun planning and putting together everything for the shower. If I could find someone to pay me to do these things I would! I decided I wanted to do something different as favors for the shower, so I made some awesome cookies (Thanks Amy for the great recipe and all your help)and decorated them with fondant and icing. I put them in bags and tied a cookie cutter to each one. They turned out very cute!

Imagination Station

We headed down town to walk around the Mill Pond and play at the Imagination Station the other night. Aiden is finally enjoying the play ground. The first few times I took him down there he would just stand there and watch the other kids, now you can't keep up with him.

After all the swinging and sliding we thought an ice cream sounded like a nice treat. So we walked over to the DQ. Aiden got his very own ice cream cone. He did pretty well eating it by himself, he didn't even drop it!



We finished our ice creams and walked the boardwalk along the Mill Pond and even got to see some little turtles.

Tickle Time

Aiden loves to climb up on our bed and roll around. He's so proud because he's figured out how to get up there on his own now. After some rolling around I thought it was time for some tickles.

Fishing

On Saturday evening we dropped Aiden off at Grandma & Grandpa's and went and did some fishing with Gary's best friend Tom. We got there get all set up and start fishing, right away Gary goes around the corner and leaves Tom and I. We are joking around throwing our lines in a few times when we hear Gary yelling for us. We look over and he's holding a HUGE bass. Well after that he was done fishing, we packed up and took the bass home. Apparently it's big enough to mount, so guess what will be hanging in the living room soon.



The bass measured 22.5 inches and was 5lbs. We looked up the record in the state of Michigan just to compare. The current record was set in 1956 at 26 inches 11.94 lbs.

Absolute Favorite

We have been having so much fun with our new camera. Yesterday while Aiden was playing I took some pictures of him. I snapped this one and have to say that it is my absolute favorite picture of him. What makes it more exciting is that I was the one that took it.
