Making Papa Proud

Aiden and I planted some herbs to put in the kitchen window. Wouldn't Papa be proud to see him planting. It makes me miss the days in the greenhouses, planting annuals, the smell of the dirt. As much as we would complain about having to be out there I sure do miss it. I don't miss watering though, everyone knows how picky Dad was about watering. The worst was when you finished watering a whole greenhouse in half an hour and Dad would come in and make you do it all over, the right way.

Sick

We've been hit with a stomach bug. It broke my heart after Aiden threw up he kept saying he was sorry. We're hoping this passes as quickly as it hit.

When I Get Big...

This morning while eating breakfast Aiden was telling me all the things that he'll be able to do when he is big. It warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face.

When I get big I can:

- Drink coffee
- Chew gum
- Cut my pancakes with a knife
- Make a Birthday cake
- Go downstairs by myself
- Read Alice and Wonderland

Music Man

I'm surprised everyday with something new one of the boys is doing...

Hello

I was surprised today while Owen was playing with the toy phone and it rang and he put it right up to his ear. So of course I had to get it on video.

Where Could The Boys Be??

This just shows we have way too many stuffed animals!

Shoveling with Dad

We haven't had as much outside play time as we would have liked this year. It's tough with a little one and by the time Gary gets home from work it's almost dark. It snowed one day last week and when Gary got home from work he went to work clearing the walkway. Aiden quickly found his boots and coat to run out and help with the shoveling.

Tatts

Aiden has been sporting some new tattoos. I think Mater really shows what a tough kid he is, don't you agree?

Owen's First Hair Cut

Gary is going to kick my butt, he has yet to find out that I cut Owen's hair and I'm already posting pictures. Gary loves Owen's longer locks and the curls in the back. The curls don't bother me as much as all the hair that hangs over his ears. I think Owen gets annoyed with at times also, I'll catch him with his hands in tight little fists holding his hair above his ears. We agreed that he would have his hair cut before Easter....

Well I can't wait till April and I don't think others were going to wait that long also. (FYI- when David was little he had hair over his ears and I was a horrible sister and cut it one day while babysitting. I saved the hair and gave it to Jessica after what she thought was his first hair cut. I had a feeling the same was about to happen to Owen.) So, Owen got a little trim today, I kept the back longer so we could enjoy his curls, but trimmed it a little so he didn't end up with a mullet.

Winter Zoo Trip

We love the zoo!! It never gets old or boring, there is always something new going on or a new animal born. One of my favorite trips is when we visit in the winter, the animals aren't just laying around and being lazy. Some of the animals can't go out when it's cold or icy but you can go inside the building where they are housed most of the time. Last week Jessica, Dad and I took the boys.

Owen spent most of the Day with Papa, he pushed the bus, I mean stroller around the whole day.

I bought the boys giant suckers after lunch, Aiden's lasted about 2 minutes before he dropped it on the floor where is shattered to pieces, thanks Papa for getting him a new one!

The best part of our zoo visit were the Polar Bears! They were swimming and playing in the water. I think we stood there for over a half hour just watching them.

The butterfly house in always our last stop of the day...

Tagged

I was tagged by friend Amy to go to my 6th album and post the 6th picture. That was quite a challenge since I save my pictures in all sorts of ways, holidays, seasons, events and so on. So I just opened picasa and went down six folders from the top to my 6th photo.

This is such a great photo, David, Kyle and Aiden are such great buds. I can't wait for this summer to see Owen trying to catch up to the three of them!

I'm supposed to pass this on, so all you bloggers that read this feel free to consider yourself tagged by me!

Uh-0h

Owen has been working on a new word.....Uh-oh. He has started to figure out the whole cause and effect process and is finding that it's fun to drop things on the floor. Owen already says Aiden and dada. We thought the Aiden thing was a fluke but he says all day long. If Aiden is to leave the room you can hear Owen calling for him.

Suckers

For Aiden's birthday this year my cousin Meghan got him a bag of 300 dum dums (one day she'll have kids and I'll remember this) so suckers are a treat around here. Gary thought he'd see how Owen liked one the other day. After quite a lot of drooling mom ruined the fun and pryed the sucker away.

Owen's hair is getting long and curly in the back but I just can't cut it yet. I know I'll look back at pictures one day and wish I did but I'm enjoying the mullet he's sporting right now.

Jumperoo

One of Owen's favorite things is his jumperoo. Days that he is at Grandma and Grandpa's he must go through withdrawals because when we get home in the evening the kid could jump for 30 minutes non stop. He even jumps when you hold him up to standing. Look what we caught him doing this morning.....jumping and sleeping at the same time.

Playtime

When I found out I was pregnant with Aiden, who was such a great baby, I would constantly get comments like "Oh just wait till the second one" or "Good luck, you won't get two good babies." There was a nurse at the pediatrician's office who shared a piece of advice with me about such comments and it was, that it is possible to have two good babies and those who say differently are just jealous. Well who would have known that baby number two would be so easy going. Owen is at such a great age right now. He LOVES to just sit and play. You can dump a pile of toys in front of him and he's good for almost an hour. My mother in law thought it was horrible the other day when I said I don't want him to crawl yet (he's getting so close, up on all fours and rocking away).

Christmas Festivities

Christmas Morning was packed full of activities. The boys got up and opened presents and then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa's to open gifts there and have breakfast.

Chloe opening the play kitchen we bought her.

After breakfast it was time to pack up again and head to Papa and PapaMom's.

PapaMom showing off the calender we made for her.

Only Papa would bring his peacock in the house. Well actually he was showing us how the male is getting his pretty feathers.

We joked that he should bring a goat in next......and HE DID. Thank goodness there was no pooping on the floor. The boys thought it was soo cool, they ran around the house with the goat chasing after them.

Christmas Morning

I don't know who was more excited for Christmas this year, Aiden or myself. This year Aiden actually understood what was going on and couldn't wait until Christmas morning. We made sure to put cookies and milk out for Santa and a few carrots for his reindeer.

My boys on Christmas Morning

The only thing Aiden wanted was the Wall-e movie. Santa left Aiden a Wall-e themed stocking complete with movie, figure and tooth brush.
