Dunk-A-Roos
Aiden and I were having a dunk-a-roo the other night after dinner, before I could throw away the package two little raccoons found them and started licking the remaining icing. It was cute watching Owen try to figure out how to get the icing out, he started with his finger and then followed Aiden's lead and just went for it with his tongue.

Friday Fill- Ins
1. Moving slow this morning, haven't had my coffee yet.
2. Aiden is nakey and free giving potty training a whirl.
3. My best quality is my patience .
4. Sometimes it's the little details that mean the most.
5. In nearly 10 years, I have graduated high school, attending college, got married, bought a house and had two wonderful little boys.
6. Coffee is what I need right now!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to family night, tomorrow my plans include cleaning this filthy house and Sunday, I want to head to the park with the boys!

Introducing Miller...

If our life wasn't crazy enough with a three year old a one year old, a dog, work and all the other household chores we thought we would make it crazier and add another dog. The McFarland Family would like to introduce our newest member, Miller. We picked up 6 week old Miller today and are already enjoying him, I'm sure I won't be thinking that in a few weeks when toys and shoes are chewed.
Sleep Boot Camp
We started sleep boot camp at the McFarland's. Anyone who knows me knows that cry it out is not a favorite of mine. Owen is not the world's best sleeper so after some encouragment from the doctor we are going to give cry it a whirl. This is how I found Owen this morning, bent completely in half, his head is resting on his feet.

Happy First Birthday Owen
It's hard to believe that Owen is turning one already, time has really flown by this year. It's a bittersweet feeling to see my little man slowly becoming more of a toddler than a baby. He is crazy fast when it comes to crawling but still doesn't show an interest in walking. He loves his big brother more than mommy it seems and calls for him all day long. He has the bluest eyes that mesmerize everyone. Watch out major leagues, Owen has quite an arm and will sit and play catch with you all afternoon long.
We celebrated Owen's Birthday this past weekend so today is a quiet family night. This afternoon we took a drive out to see Papa at his new job and then off to Kutchey's to see PapaMom and pick up some flowers to plant. I think after dinner tonight we take a little trip downtown for a little walk and a stop at the Dairy Queen and let the birthday boy get as messy as he wants with his own cone.

Friday Fill- Ins
1. Apples are to oranges as Aiden is to Owen.
2. It's Friday and that's all I have to say about that.
3. I think I hear my coffee brewing.
4. Fertilizer flag, I'm so done with anything fertilizer related.
5. Do what you want to do, but today we are off to see Papa and PapaMom at work.
6. There was Aiden and behind him was a Radio Flyer wagon; in the wagon was a bucket filled with worms. (I asked Aiden for help on this one)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Celebrating Owen's first birthday, tomorrow my plans include laundry and catching up on Scrapbook things (Get Inked starts Monday) and Sunday, I want to enjoy my Mother's Day with my wonderful family!

Happy 1st Birthday
Happy First Birthday to my little man. Yesterday we had Owen's 1st birthday a little early ( seems both the boys have birthdays close to holidays). We had a fabulous time with family and friends, the weather was great and the kids had a blast. It's hard to believe that a year has flown by so quickly.

And the best part of the Birthday.....the cake smashing...

Thank You to everyone for making Owen's day for so special!!

Friday Fill- Ins
I've seen this on a few friend's blogs and thought I would give it a try. I can't guarantee that it will be every Friday but I'm going to give it a try...... here we go.....
1. The first rule of working in an office and getting along is don't rearrange my desk, leave my pens alone!
2. I'm not sure if I've ever had clams.
3. When I think of carnivals I think of that horrible smell of vomit and cotton candy.
4. I couldn't tell you my favorite spring flower, I think seeing those first little green leaves is more exciting.
5. Things on my desk include contracts, landscape proposals, Tiger's tickets and random parts to order.
6. Cleaning my house makes me wanna hire a maid.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to spending time with the family, tomorrow my plans include Owen's First Birthday Party and Sunday, I want to sleep in and do nothing (though I know that will never happen)!

Mud Puddles
A fierce storm blew threw this afternoon, lots of trees down and power outtages. We were lucky to only be left with mud puddles. After the storm had passed we headed outside with Aiden's new boots. He had a blast jumping and splashing in every puddle he found. Our neighbor Steve even came out, with suckers in hand for the boys, to see what all the comotion was about.

My Little Helper
Aiden LOVES Owen and is always asking to help do things with him. The other night I was trying to get dinner started and feed Owen at the same time, I'd feed him a few bites and then go back to cooking. At one point I looked over and Aiden had taken over and was feeding Owen. I think Owen eats better for Aiden than he does for me!
Gotta Love that face!!

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail....
Aiden was so excited about the Eater Bunny this year, Grandma taught him to sing "Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail". He has been eyeing up Easter Baskets at all the stores. The Easter Bunny hid his basket this year and he had a blast running from room to room looking for it. Owen wasn't quite sure what was going on but once that basket was in front of him he figured it out quickly.

We had Easter Dinner at Papa and PapaMom's this year. All the kids had a great time chasing after the goats and running around outside, thank goodness the snow melted! Owen didn't make it the egg hunt, instead him and Daddy decided a nap was in order!

A Snowman in April???
We woke up this morning to a surprising 7 inches of snow, just when we thought spring had finally sprung. Mother nature sure played a trick on us, maybe it's a late April Fool's Day prank. The last of the big snow piles had melted and the daffodils were beginning to bloom. Aiden was a little perplexed this morning when we had him look out the window. He didn't understand why there was snow outside. After work he asked all the way home if we could make a snow man when we got home. We rushed home and left Gary in charge of dinner and bundled up to head outside. We built a snow man and even had a snowball fight.

Making Papa Proud
Aiden and I planted some herbs to put in the kitchen window. Wouldn't Papa be proud to see him planting. It makes me miss the days in the greenhouses, planting annuals, the smell of the dirt. As much as we would complain about having to be out there I sure do miss it. I don't miss watering though, everyone knows how picky Dad was about watering. The worst was when you finished watering a whole greenhouse in half an hour and Dad would come in and make you do it all over, the right way.

When I Get Big...
This morning while eating breakfast Aiden was telling me all the things that he'll be able to do when he is big. It warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face.
When I get big I can:
- Drink coffee
- Chew gum
- Cut my pancakes with a knife
- Make a Birthday cake
- Go downstairs by myself
- Read Alice and Wonderland
