Mill Pond

The weather has been so nice lately we thought we would head downtown to the mill pond after dinner. One of Aiden's favorite things lately is to pop a bag of popcorn and go feed the ducks and geese, last week we even had the pleasure of feeding a swan. The playground wasn't that busy so we thought we would play there first.

Things after the swings got ugly so we decided it was time to just go feed the ducks..

After feeding the ducks and geese we were off to dairy queen. Along the way we spotted a little chipmunk on a log..

After ice cream we walked the boardwalk for a bit trying to see some fish and also to take the long way back to the car so someone didn't see the P-L-A-Y-G-R-O-U-N-D again. At the edge of the mill pond, the water rushes down some rocks and then heads underground. Aiden always asks to see the waterfall.

I had to take a picture of the water heading under the sidewalk and then under the street because Gary always comments how scary it would be to be sucked under...

Always in Hand...

Main Entry: friend
Part of Speech: noun 1
Definition: confidant
Synonyms: acquaintance, ally, alter ego, amigo, associate, bedfellow, blocker, boon companion, bosom buddy*, brother, buddy, chum*, classmate, cohort, colleague, companion*, compatriot, comrade, confrere, consort, countryman, cousin, crony, familiar, fellow, intimate, kissing cousin, little brother, main man, main squeeze, mate, other self, pal, partner, playmate, roommate, schoolmate, sidekick, sister, soul mate*, spare*, well-wisher

All these words can be used to describe the relationship that Aiden has with his Lightning McQueen car. It's with him at all times. He has a few "Lightnings" but the beat up and dinged one is his most favorite. Naps are even taken with Lightning in hand. We have battles with Grandma on days Aiden goes to her house because Lightning and his gang must tag along for the day. By the time I come to pick him up most are "lost" and the hunt begins. Recently it took Grandma two days of searching to find them all. In case you were wondering they were found in the spare room, under the bed, surrounded by blocks.

Random Videos

Aiden and I were taking it easy this afternoon (doctor's orders) so I got out the video camera to catch Mr. Ham. He surprises me everyday with something new, I don't know where he learns some of this...

Another Trip To The......

ZOO....

Yes, I can admit it now, we are addicted to the zoo. I actually bought a membership yesterday while we were there. The weather was gorgeous yesterday so Jessica and I took the boys to the zoo. Papa and PapaMom met us up there in time for lunch and a few more hours of walking around. By the end of the trip I was waddling pretty much the whole time and had thoughts of kicking Kyle out of the double stroller Jessica had rented.

Since I've posted a million pictures of our zoo trips I thought this time I'd only post pictures of us and not the animals. A monkey looks like a monkey anyway right?

Happy Birthday Mom

The party was a go and mom was completed surprised. We threw mom a little reverse surprise party for her 50th birthday. She thought she was just going out with Aunt Carolyn, Uncle Bill, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Barry & Dad. She arrived at the destination at 6 and thought nothing of it as they sat and had a drink and grabbed some pizza. Everyone else was instructed to start showing up at 6:30. Aunt Mary Jo was the first there, but mom didn't think much of it since Aunt Cindy was there. Gary, Jessica and I were frantically trying to get there for the actually surprise part (leaving Brighton at 5 and having to drive across Hall Rd. is a nightmare any time but even worse when you have somewhere to be). I was quite surprised that we were the next ones threw the door. Jessica had a bunch of balloons and Gary had the cake. As soon as we walked through the door it dawned on mom what was up. Of course she started crying and saying she didn't want a party, but a milestone like 50 deserves to be celebrated. Soon after everyone else came rolling through the door, and with each new person it was like a surprise all over again. We enjoyed some pizza and then a few games of shuffle board.

Aiden must have been a good boy because the Easter Bunny stopped by while he was sleeping and left him some goodies.

Playdate

On a spur of the moment all my girlfriends were free this weekend so we had a little get together at our house. I had been telling Aiden all morning that the babies were coming to play. As soon as he heard baby he went to his room and pulled out the two bins of baby toys. Once they were here it was a different story. Being the biggest for once had it's advantage and the pharase "that's mine" was said quite often. At one point he took his Lightning McQueen and locked it in the dog cage so no one could get it.

Nap time already??

It's very rarely that Aiden falls asleep mid morning. Aiden was having a cranky morning and asked if I would put Cars on. I had a pile of laundry calling my name so I put the DVD in while I finished up folding. When things got too quiet I went to check on him, this is what I found.

I guess it doesn't matter what time of day it is, sometimes we just need a little nap.

Winter Wonder

We got some snow last night, this morning it was beautiful out. Not too cold and the sun was shinning. I thought it would be a good day to go play in the snow. I dug around for something to cover this baby bump and got Aiden all dressed. From the moment we stepped outside Aiden started to cry. The sun was reflecting off the snow, so he cried. He couldn't walk in snow suit, so he cried. I went to the car to get his mittens, so he cried. We did swing on the swings a bit and go for a little sled ride. I think all in all it took us longer to get ready then it did to play. After all that crying it was time for a nap...
