Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny didn't forget Aiden this year. He was here bright and early to leave Aiden a little surprise. He left a trail of Easter eggs that lead to his basket.




Aiden followed them through the house and into the kitchen....

We spent Easter at Papa Hillary's and Nana Grace's. Everyone was there. Aiden was a bit shy but warmed up to everyone after a while. Grandma wanted a family picture with the 9 of us, but Kyle wasn't much in the mood. We did manage to get a picture of the three boys before Kyle's protest.

Brush Brush Brush

Just thought I would share a little video of Aiden brushing his teeth after his bath last night...

I know something is down there....

Last night while getting Aiden's bath ready I let him run around "nekkid" for a while. At first I couldn't figure out what he was trying to do but soon figured it out.



Aiden was trying so hard to see what was down there. His little belly gets in the way and he can't really check it out. He even tried sitting down to see if that helped, that only made his belly stick out further. Finally he figured out if he stands up and places his hands on the floor he can see what's down there!

New Shoes

Aiden must be taking after his mom, because the kid seems to have big feet! My friend Carla (from my baby board) made Aiden these adorable shamrock shoes. I think they are fitting for a little McFarland!

St. Patrick's Day

We spent St. Patrick's Day with friends from Gary's work. Aiden got to spend the evening with Grandma and Grandpa. Aunt Angie and Uncle Tim stopped by to play with him while he was there. Here are a few pictures from last night.

Kirby

Everyone is always asking what Kirby is saying now. In the morning is the best time to hear him, he likes to go through most of his vocab as early as he can it seems. I got some video of him this morning, well I should say audio. I had to hide behind the armoire in the bedroom to get it. So there isn't much to look at but if you turn it up you can hear him talk away.





Note: After talking to Jessica, she thought Gary was home while I filmed that, nope. It's all Kirby. So that just shows how dead on he can get with voices. Gary will walk into the room sometimes aggravated and ask me what do you want. Sometimes he can't tell the difference between Me or Kirby calling for him.

Daddy Dressed Me

I was running around the other morning, late as usual, so I asked Gary to get Aiden dressed. Normally I pick out the clothes and Gary just has to put them on. I didn't have time for that this morning so told Gary to just pick something out. It does not look as bad in the picture as it did in real life. I guess in a man's head camo is just like jeans it goes with everything.

Boo Boo

Well we received our first boo boo that drew blood. Aiden and I went to pick Gary up from work before heading out to dinner last night. We got there a little early so we went in to visit. Aiden loves the paint store and as soon as he gets in there he starts running. Well he was running from Gary and fell. The crying was delayed, which always seems to mean it's something serious. At first I thought he bit his lip but it looks like a nasty case of rug burn across his lip. Last night he had quite a fat lip but after sucking on his binky for a bit it seems to have gone down.

Silly Boy

I just wanted to share some silly videos of Aiden. He makes the funniest faces lately. Our favorite is when in squinches his eyes closed and gives a goofy smile. Enjoy!

14 Months

Wow! Time seems to be flying by. It's hard to believe that Aiden is 14 months old already. Everyday he seems to be doing something new. I thought I would share a few of his favorite things right now:



1) Binkies! We may have to check Aiden into Brighton Hospital if he doesn't control this addiction of his (In case some don't know Brighton Hospital deals with addiction, and is located down the street from us). Aiden can be found with a binky in each hand and one in his mouth at most times. He has now started to come get me when he can't reach the ones I try to hide on the shelf in his room.




2) This is Aiden's favorite show on TV. I know, I know...TV, but I need some Mommy time every once in awhile. Aiden pats along with Leo, Annie, Quincy and June. And when Rocket is ready for take off you can find Aiden's little arms high in the air.



3)Animals. It doesn't seem to matter whether they bark, meow, squawk, or swim. Aiden is getting much better in the pettying department and doesn't seem to beat the dogs when petting lately. He LOVES kitty cats, if we didn't already have a zoo I might consider a cat. Our newest edition is a 40 gallon fish tank, which Aiden loves to watch. Most of his favorite books contain animals and we have been working on animal sounds...his sheep is by far the best around.



4) I don't know what the fascination is with a toilet but Aiden seems to have it. About a week ago my cell phone ended up going for a swim. With quick thinking i removed the battery and things have dried out and our working fine. I have had my hand in the toilet more than I care to share. He hasn't even figured out how to flush yet, but I'm sure when he does we are in big trouble.



5) His Mom....ok his dad too but I'm doing the typing, right? It seems Aiden's new favorite word is MOM! When he can't reach a toy in the toy box...MOM. When he's hungry...MOM. When Buster is trying to sit on his lap and all he wants to be doing is playing with some toy...MOM. When he wakes up in the morning and stands in his crib, shaking the railing until someone comes to get him...MOM.

I heard a little commotion in the other room. This is what I found...

Aiden went for a haircut this morning. At first he thought he was hot stuff sitting in the chair all by himself until the lady came out with a cape. He was doing everything he could to get away from that lady and her cape. Finally I had to sit in the chair with a cape on and Aiden in my lap. He still wouldn't but the cape on so he got covered in hair. It seems that we both have the itchies for the rest of the day now. She seemed to take forever, couldn't she she I had a wiggly little man in my lap who wanted nothing to do with her. The only thing that saved us, was her chair was by the window so I could point out the passing cars.

Brush, brush, brush

Aiden loves getting his teeth brushed with the finger toothbrush. I don't know how long it will last though, mom's finger might be in danger soon. Thank goodness we only have 4 teeth right now!

New do

I think it's about time for another hair cut. Before Aiden's bath yesterday I pulled out some hair gel and spiked his hair all up. When I showed him in the mirror he let out a giggle and kept trying to touch it.

S'mores Anyone?

Well it's been a long cold two days. Last night after Gary got off work we headed up to Costco to look around and grab some dinner. When we pulled in the drive I noticed an orange glow coming from behind the furniture/paint store. Well as soon as we pulled into the drive a little further we found out what it was from.

Consumers Energy had been doing some work at the top of the street and hit a gas line. The flames were close to 30 feet tall. It wasn't too long after that, that the firetrucks and police cars started showing up. Two fireman came to the door to check the inside of the house for gas. The flames burned until almost 3 am, at which time they shut off the gas. Well no gas meant no heat. The gas was suppose to be turned back on by this afternoon but they hit a sewage pipe in the process. So here I sit at the in-laws. Hopefully everything will be cleaned up by morning.

Ah ah ah...

I never noticed that I say ah ah ah instead of no until Aiden started repeating me. He thinks it's funny to ah ah ah himself when doing something he shouldn't. I got some video of him last night doing it. He has also learned what button on the tv turns it on and off, though sometimes he misses and tries to push the little red light instead of the actual button. If you listen closely you can hear Kirby in the background whistling.

Baby Board get together

I've been posting with a baby board since finding out I was pregnant with Aiden. I talk to all the other mommies everyday, well I finally got to meet one of the moms. Carla lives in Hanover, Ontario but was visiting her in laws in Sarnia. So Aiden and I took a little road trip and met them in Port Huron for lunch. We met Carla, her husband Greg and two daughters Angela and Heather. It was soo nice to actually see Carla in person after talking to her daily.

After lunch we went over to the mall and did a bit of shopping then a little playing in the play place.







We had such a great time... can't wait till we can do it again!

When asked what a sheep says, Aiden replied.....

Bubbles!!

I find it amazing the things Aiden learns. It seems every day he is learning something new. This afternoon while giving him a bath I pointed out some bubbles, Aiden repeated me right away. So after he was all dressed I thought we would pull out the dinosaur bubble blower. As soon as the first bubble came out Aiden was saying bubble. He has spent the rest of the afternoon walking around saying bubble.

Cleaning

Today I was doing a little cleaning and noticed the ledge in the living room was growing things so I thought it was time to give it a good cleaning. I don't clean it as much as I should, ok I admit I've never cleaned up there. I went out to the garage got the ladder, drug it in, almost killed myself getting the vacuum up there, then chickened out climbing up there. So what's the next option...."Gary!!!...Come here". Gary climbed up there and cleaned it all up. He gets some bonus points for that!

Look what I can do!

Look where I found Aiden this morning. He climbs up on the stool and then shakes the rail of the crib and yells till you come and see what he is doing. He loves to get as many of his binkies as he can find. He walks around with one in his mouth and one in each hand.

Painted...

I painted the bathroom last week. The other color was getting a bit old and I figured it was time for something new. Aiden helped a bit, not as much as he wanted. I'd put the masking tape up and he would pull it off. He only managed to get paint on him once, I can't say the same for me.

Well I think I can say we officially have a walker. The only time Aiden has been crawling is when he falls down and needs to get to the nearest object to help him back up. He LOVES to walk and has been non-stop most of the weekend. It seems the Frankenstein arms have stopped too. He has a little routine while walking through the house.....

Frankenstein

Frankenstein is Aiden's new nickname. He is really walking up a storm lately but can only do it with his arms held out in front of him. I know he does it for balance but it's quite cute!

Haircut

Gary never wants Aiden to get his hair cut. I think he's afraid it will make him a big boy rather than a baby still. So when he went out for the night Aiden and I played barber shop. Last time we went to carnival cuts and they charged us a small fortune to nip the ends off...so this time mommy was doing it.

Grocery Shopping....

While grocery shopping yesterday Aiden starting getting a little bit tired. You could see he was zoning out and he was going to be out for the final count soon. Gary had picked up a little pillow he wanted for home so it was in the cart. We stuck it behind Aiden's head and he slept the rest of the shopping trip. Everyone we passed pointed and commented on how cute he was...I'd have to agree.

What will it be next?

What a long two weeks for Aiden. The Wednesday before Christmas Aiden started with a cold. We thought it was just a cold until the this past Wednesday night when he started with a fever. Thursday morning Aiden woke up with a pretty high fever so I called and changed his well doctor visit that was planned for the day into a sick visit. Dr. O'Conner checked his chest and ears and everything looked fine, so home we went. When Aiden still had a fever Saturday morning we went back to the doctors, his chest and ears were checked again. This time he had an ear infection. Well wouldn't you know it when he woke up Sunday from his nap and had what looked like a rash....rosieola. Add on top of it all he's getting his two top teeth...poor little man!
