Imagination Station

We headed down town to walk around the Mill Pond and play at the Imagination Station the other night. Aiden is finally enjoying the play ground. The first few times I took him down there he would just stand there and watch the other kids, now you can't keep up with him.

After all the swinging and sliding we thought an ice cream sounded like a nice treat. So we walked over to the DQ. Aiden got his very own ice cream cone. He did pretty well eating it by himself, he didn't even drop it!



We finished our ice creams and walked the boardwalk along the Mill Pond and even got to see some little turtles.

Tickle Time

Aiden loves to climb up on our bed and roll around. He's so proud because he's figured out how to get up there on his own now. After some rolling around I thought it was time for some tickles.

Fishing

On Saturday evening we dropped Aiden off at Grandma & Grandpa's and went and did some fishing with Gary's best friend Tom. We got there get all set up and start fishing, right away Gary goes around the corner and leaves Tom and I. We are joking around throwing our lines in a few times when we hear Gary yelling for us. We look over and he's holding a HUGE bass. Well after that he was done fishing, we packed up and took the bass home. Apparently it's big enough to mount, so guess what will be hanging in the living room soon.



The bass measured 22.5 inches and was 5lbs. We looked up the record in the state of Michigan just to compare. The current record was set in 1956 at 26 inches 11.94 lbs.

Absolute Favorite

We have been having so much fun with our new camera. Yesterday while Aiden was playing I took some pictures of him. I snapped this one and have to say that it is my absolute favorite picture of him. What makes it more exciting is that I was the one that took it.

Where is the best spot to eat a popsicle

In the bathtub of course! Easy clean up that's for sure...

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend was rather quiet in the McFarland house. Gary and I spent Saturday night with some friends and BBQ at his parents on Sunday. Gary even managed to get some fishing in both Saturday and Sunday.

Last year on Memorial weekend Aunt Angie and Uncle Tim had a surprise for Aiden, a big stuffed dog. We took his picture with it then so I thought it would be fun to take his picture with it now to see how much bigger he has gotten.

That morning Aiden was sitting on the couch next to a pile of laundry that needed to be folded. He pulled out two of socks and insisted that I put them on. This is what he found.


On Monday I got up early and wanted to get some yard work done. We bought Aiden a new sandbox over the weekend and wanted to get that ready for him to play with too. While I worked outside Aiden and Daddy had a lazy morning lounging in their pjs.







Later that afternoon we went out to my parents house. I wish the purpose of the trip was for something fun but we had to visit the funeral home that day. But while we were waiting for my mom to get off of work to took advantage of trying out the new camera and getting some pictures at my parents.

Gary brought home a box from work the other day. It was as much fun for us watching Aiden play in as it was for him. It's now his little fort on the deck.







I love that last photo of him, his rosy little cheeks and just seeing his eyes peeking through the box.

It's tough being 1

It's tough being one sometimes. Aiden was having a lazy kind of day, hung around in his jammies most of the morning. Then had a little bit of breakfast. Played with his cars for a bit then sat down to watch Mickey Mouse Club House. I was working on the computer and noticed it had gotten too quiet so I peeked in the other room. This is what I found....

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a fantastic Mother's Day! We spent it at the zoo with family, my sister and her two boys, my mom and dad, my Aunt and cousin along with some of my sisters in-laws. We got tons of animal pictures before the camera finally died. Aiden had a great time, I would have to say his favorite moment of the day was chasing the seagulls at our picnic spot. Aiden and I took a ride to see PapaMom at the stand and pick up some flowers. While we were there Nana stopped by so we got to visit with her for a bit.

Baby Jake

Brye, Aiden and I went for a little road trip to Grand Rapids to see Baby Jake. Both Melissa and Jake are doing great. I got to test out what having a little one would be like with Aiden around. He did pretty good except the throwing of hot wheels, I was nervous he was going to hit the baby.
